The Olympic and Paralympic Village in Predazzo has officially opened, reaching a major milestone in the countdown to the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics.

Delivered alongside the newly completed Stadio del Salto Giuseppe Dal Ben, the scheme blends refurbished pavilions with new-build accommodation. A modern construction approach was adopted throughout, combining modular and prefabricated solutions with timber and reinforced concrete structures.

The design places strong emphasis on sustainability, energy performance and long-term usability, not just for the Games, but well beyond them. Comfort, durability and full accessibility were central to the specification, ensuring the facilities meet both Olympic standards and everyday operational demands.

Prefabrication at the Core

As part of the development, 192 prefabricated bathroom pods were installed within the Latemar UF2 Pavilion. The project also included prefabricated stair structures serving the ski jumping facilities.

Using off-site manufactured elements enabled:

  • Faster installation on programme-critical areas
  • Greater consistency and quality control
  • Reduced site disruption
  • The level of finish and reliability expected on an Olympic venue

On a site where delays simply aren’t an option, controlled factory production helped remove risk from the programme while maintaining high performance standards.

A Legacy Beyond 2026

Following the Games, the Village will transition to long-term use by the Alpine School of the Guardia di Finanza. The facilities will provide accommodation and training spaces for students, while also supporting sports retreats and specialist programmes.

This dual-purpose approach ensures the investment delivers value well beyond the Olympic spotlight, a practical legacy, not just a ceremonial one.
