Knight Dragon’s Greenwich Peninsula is one of London’s largest single-owner regeneration schemes. A former brownfield site on the Thames is being transformed into a new riverside district, delivering more than 17,000 homes alongside 48 acres of public realm and open space.
The masterplan balances architectural ambition with delivery efficiency and sustainability, positioning Greenwich Peninsula as one of London’s most forward-thinking urban developments.
Plot 19.05 – Lower Riverside
Plot 19.05, managed by Mace, will deliver 431 private-sale apartments within the Lower Riverside neighbourhood.
The scheme adopts a hybrid construction strategy, combining traditional methods with production-led technologies to:
- Reduce programme duration
- Improve delivery certainty
- Lower embodied and operational carbon
Off-Site at Scale
Prefabrication plays a central role in the project’s execution. Key elements include:
- 562 bathroom pods
- 431 prefabricated utility cupboards
- Prefabricated balconies
- Precast concrete frames and sandwich panel façades
- District heating networks and additional sub-assemblies
All components are coordinated through BIM to LOD 300–350, ensuring alignment across design, manufacture and installation.
StercheleGroup’s Role
StercheleGroup is responsible for the design, manufacture and delivery of all 562 bathroom pods. The scope integrates technical coordination, production management and on-site interface support to meet the project’s programme demands and quality benchmarks.
The use of factory-controlled bathroom pod construction supports consistency, traceability and reduced on-site labour, aligning with the wider “construction-to-production” approach adopted across Plot 19.05.
