Key Project Data
- Location: Victoria Square, Woking, UK
- Sector: Hospitality
- Development type: Mixed-use high-rise regeneration
- Hotel: 4-star Hilton
- Bathroom pods supplied (hotel): 165 prefabricated units
- Sterchele scope: Design coordination, off-site manufacture, sequenced delivery, and on-site technical integration support through installation and commissioning

The Challenge
The Hilton Hotel forms part of the wider Victoria Square regeneration, comprising multiple high-rise towers delivered concurrently within a constrained urban footprint.
Hospitality schemes require consistent room layouts, strict dimensional control, and alignment with brand-led finish standards. Bathroom installation needed to integrate precisely with structural cores, riser strategies, and bedroom fit-out sequencing while maintaining repeatability across guest floors.
A conventional in-situ bathroom approach would have introduced multiple trade interfaces within guest room zones, increasing coordination demand and variability in finish execution.
Our Solution
Sterchele engineered, manufactured, and delivered 165 fully prefabricated bathroom pods for the Hilton Hotel, structured to align with hospitality specifications and floor-by-floor installation sequencing.
Our involvement included:
- Detailed design coordination to align pod geometry with hotel room layouts and structural tolerances
- Interface alignment with drainage, ventilation, containment, and riser configurations
- Factory-controlled manufacture with defined inspection and dimensional verification stages
- Sequenced delivery aligned to guest-floor installation progression
- On-site technical presence during installation and commissioning to support coordinated integration and service verification
The bathroom package was incorporated as a controlled modular element within the hotel construction sequence, supporting repeatability across all guest rooms.

Why Prefabricated Pods Were Effective
Within a hospitality environment, prefabrication provided operational clarity:
- Consolidation of multi-trade bathroom works into a single manufactured unit
- Repeatable installation methodology across guest floors
- Reduced labour intensity within vertical cores and room fit-out zones
- Standardised quality verification prior to site delivery
- Installation sequencing aligned with bedroom construction and commissioning phases
The bathroom scope was delivered as a coordinated modular system, supporting consistent execution across all 165 hotel rooms.
Outcome
The use of prefabricated pods transitioned bathroom delivery from multi-trade, room-by-room site construction to a controlled and repeatable modular installation process.
This contributed to:
- Programme predictability aligned with guest-floor sequencing
- Reduced trade congestion within bedroom fit-out areas
- Consistent dimensional and finish standards across all hotel bathrooms
- Clear interface coordination between pod services and the building’s MEP infrastructure
By integrating design coordination, manufacture, delivery, and on-site technical support within a single structured scope, the bathroom package aligned with the precision and repeatability required for a branded hospitality development.
